I have been painting since my earliest memories. As a child I would always ask for plain white paper when someone went to town. I made drawings and paintings. And maybe when I was 8 a young latina woman came to visit. We were fast friends (being about the same size in height!) and she told me, “always sign your paintings “Esteban”. And so I did. All thru College. And then again when I came back to painting in 2000
I grew up on a farm. At the end of the lane lived an elderly woman who made oil paintings i dearly loved. When she died her son gave me her easel and paints. I went to the hardware store to buy more. And started figuring out paint on canvas. I studied art in college, starting work in graphics and technology.
In 2000 I decided I wanted to return to painting but with the decision to do something different so I started making figure paintings in watercolor and graphite drawings.
